Description
This video series has been designed to inform supervisors of their role in a company's drug and alcohol testing program. They will learn how to make a determination that an employee could be impaired and the course of action to take after that determination is made. They will also learn what events constitute an accident and who should be tested once they determine that the event meets the definition of an accident. This course is designed as a general training for employers who are not required to comply with DOT and Federal drug and alcohol testing requirements.
Objectives
This course will provide general information in video format for non-Regulated employees and supervisors.

- General Effects of Drugs & Alcohol in the workplace
- The duties of the employees who are subject to the program.
- Employer, Supervisor, and Employee Responsibilities
- Information on the effects of alcohol on a person’s health, work, and personal life
- Information on the effects of drugs on a person’s health, work, and personal life
- Employee conduct that is prohibited by the regulations.
- The drug screen collection process
- An explanation of what constitutes a refusal to test.
- An explanation of the consequences of refusing a test.
- Definition of an MRO, DER, and SAP
- When and under what circumstances employees will be tested.
- The signs and symptoms of drug use and alcohol misuse.
- Proper management & documentation of constructive employee confrontations
